Michelle Pane is a Southern California native who grew up in Los Angeles and attended University of California San Diego where she studied Judaic Studies and European History. After college Michelle moved to Boston to pursue a career in publishing and quickly realized that cubicle life did not suit her. She found that she was spending all of her free time in the kitchen and often had her head buried in a cookbook. She decided to change courses and enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at Johnson & Wales in Providence, Rhode Island.
In 2008, after completing culinary school, Michelle and her husband moved to San Francisco to learn from some of the country’s most highly regarded Michelin starred chefs such as Chef Michael Tusk at Quince and Chef Laurent Manrique at Aqua. While Michelle loved the energy and dedication of the restaurant kitchens, she craved the opportunity to interact with the guests. Upon returning to Boston three years later, Michelle made the decision to work in the front of the house and never looked back.
Michelle began working at Menton in March 2012 as a Kitchen Server with the goal that she would one day join the management team. This goal guided her through nearly every position at Menton from Kitchen Server to Captain to Guest Relations Manager to Service Manager and in August 2014, Michelle was promoted to the position of General Manager.
